Wilderness Awareness Readiness and Survival will review some of the in-depth topics addressed in other classes of the Taos Search and Rescue UNM CE Curriculum. The end result will be an individual with increased confidence to make the right decisions for personal and team safety in the outdoors.
This course will cover what essentials to bring with you and how to use them in the wilderness environment. What hazards to be aware of, and what the best planning strategies are to avoid those hazards. We will also discuss actions to take in case you are lost. This course will serve as a foundation for the additional courses being offered through Taos Search and Rescue.
